Cycle Skills Class - Using Cleats
 
This class will focus on 'using cleats' (clip in shoes/pedals).  So if you've been anxious about trying cleats you should attend this class.
 
In addition, the class will cover the key safety elements of cycling including, mounting, dismounting, changing gears, turning, cornering, braking and uphill.downhill technique.  Plus safety in group riding.
 
You need to bring:
 
  • A bike (any style; mountain, hybrid or racing bike) in good good working order
  • Bike pedals with clip in pedals (already fitted) and shoes with correct cleats to fit pedals
  • Jogging Shoes
  • An approved cycling helment (compulsory)
  • Water bottle
 
Who can attend this class?
 
You should feel comfortable and balanced riding a bike with regular (flatform) pedals.
 
Must be over 18 years years of age. 
 
 
Notes
  1. The class is for road cycling and does not cover mountain biking techniques (although you can attend on a mountain bike).
  2. Wet weather:  Should it be raining heavily the class will be changed to another date.
  3. Limited to 8 people.
     
Meeting Place- Learners Cycleway at Centennial Park.  Enter via Randwick Gates, turn left in to Grand Drive in the Park about 400m on left you will see the cycleway (it is before you get to Robertson Rd Gates).  See map for exact location.
